If you decide that Bookwebs are are right web designers for you, this how we work.
Your First ContactYou can contact us by email or by telephone. Give us as much information as you like although the more you can tell us about plans and ideas, the better.
Initial DiscussionsDuring the initials discussions about your website (by telephone or email), you can expect lots of questions. We have a web design questionnaire for authors to help you plan your site. We can email the questionnaire to you so you can complete it in your own time, or we can go through the questions on the telephone. Once we have a thorough understanding of the scope of your site, we can provide you with a website estimate.
Website EstimateOur estimate is a detailed document which outlines the work we will do to produce a website that meets your needs, and the estimated cost. Our estimate will explain exactly what your site will look like, how many pages there will be, how many photographs will be displayed and whether or not any special functionality is included (blogs, Facebook and Twitter integration, image galleries etc). We will also advise on any optional extras that we think may enhance your site, but it's entirely up to you whether or not you wish to include these extras (they will add to overall cost of your site). We write in plain english so that it easy for you to understand and if you don't understand anything, all you need to do is ask. We also state what we we expect from you in terms of content and images, and give a timescale for the completion of the work. Typically it takes four weeks to create an average authors website.
The First StepsOnce the estimate has been agreed, we will make a start on your site. The first stages include:
- Registering a domain name for you (we can give you advice on the best name to choose)
- Organising the right sort of hosting for your website
- Setting up any email addresses that you need
