Including extracts or sample chapters on your website
Including extracts of your work on your website can give readers a better feel of what your work is about and encourage them to find out more, or perhaps buy your book. There are two options.
Include the extract on a web page
An extract of your work can be displayed on a web page. For an author, the extract could be displayed on the page where the details and synopsis of the book are presented. Web pages can be as long as you like, so there is no limit to the number of words you can include. It's sensible not to make it too long though.
Include a downloadable extract
Your website can include a facility allowing visitors to download an extract of your work. The download can be in Word or PDF format.
